Ching-Hsuan Wang

Taiwanese violinist Ching-Hsuan Wang brings cross-cultural musical experience as a versatile violinist and music educator. As a soloist, Ching-Hsuan was the winner of the Walter and Virginia Charles Concerto Contest and was featured with the Greeley Chamber Orchestra in 2009. In 2016, she represented the State of Colorado for the 50 State Project, premiering Amerigo Sonata written by award-winning composer Stephanie Ann Boyd. Ching-Hsuan was again featured to perform with the Greeley Chamber Orchestra in 2016. While classically trained, she also has a passion for jazz and other genres of music. She is one of the founding members of the versatile string quartet group “Dynamix String Quartet.” For jazz music, Ching-Hsuan was the featured violinist for the Global Saxophone Quartet tour in Beijing, Tianjing, Changsha and Wuhan, China in 2015 and 2017. For film music, she was played for the Taiwanese original movie “Dance. Lazurite” in 2012, and the movie “Starbright” which will be released in 2018. Album credit includes jazz vocalist Annie Chen’s original album “Pisces the Dreamer,” recorded in New York, 2014; “New Angle” album by All Angles Orchestra which she toured with in the Midwest United States in the summer of 2017; and “Got to Feel” album by The Burroughs in 2017. Ching-Hsuan is currently a doctoral student and graduate assistant at University of Northern Colorado studying with Jubal Fulks. She received her Master of Music from New York University, and her Bachelor of Music from University of Northern Colorado where she was the recipient of the International Undergraduate Scholarship and the Henry T. & Blanche L. Dynamix String Quartet

                                                                                                 creates a liaison between popular musical styles and classical string instrumentation. We frequent bars, pubs, and coffee shops, as well as traditional classical music venues, hoping to bring classical sounds to modern audiences in places they enjoy. Our ensemble performs a large variety of genres, from pop, hiphop, and R&B, to jazz, rock, and modern classical compositions. 
 

Dynamix String Quartet

Gina Buzzelli

Gina Buzzelli is currently pursuing a Graduate Certificate at the University of Northern Colorado. She received her Masters degree from UNC as well and her undergraduate degree is from Ball State University where she was the recipient of the Presidential Scholarship in the Arts as well as the Presidential Academic Scholarship. She began her violin studies at the age of seven and her teachers have included Jubal Fulks, Anna Vayman, Merwin Siu, Ioana Galu, and Mary Natvig. Gina has also had the opportunity to perform in masterclasses with artists such as Hilary Hahn, Felix Olschofka, Anna Reider, Felicia Moye, St. Martin in the Fields Chamber Orchestra, Tesla String Quartet, and Trio Solis. During the summers she has participated in the Round Top Festival Institute, National Music Festival, Miami Summer Music Festival, Eastern Music Festival, and the International Lyric Academy Opera Festival in Viterbo, Italy. In addition to being classically trained, Gina has pursued other genres participating in jazz combos at both Ball State University and the University of Northern Colorado, and attending the Jamey Aebersold Summer Jazz Workshop and Mark O’Connor Fiddle Camp. Furthermore, she was a featured soloist with BSU’s top jazz band on their European Tour in May of 2015 and actively performs with the All Angles Orchestra.

Tyler Mckisson

Tyler McKisson, a Colorado native, is currently pursuing his Bachelor of Music in viola at the University of Northern Colorado. His teachers include, Brian Cook, Christopher Luther, and Anne Lanzilotti, and has participated in masterclasses with Guillermo Figueroa, Robert deMaine, and Matthew Dane. Tyler is a member of the Cheyenne Symphony Orchestra and has been principal violist of various orchestras in the northern Colorado region. He was a finalist in the MTNA in the 2017 MTNA National Chamber Music Competition withe the UNC String Quartet.

Brett Andrews

Brett Andrews is currently principal cellist of the Texarkana Symphony Orchestra and is an active musician in the Ark-La-Tex area, frequently playing as a member of the Emerald Piano Quartet and Trio in recitals across east Texas and north Louisiana. As a founding member of Dynamix String Quartet, he tours Northern Colorado performing new string quartet arrangements in unconventional venues, such as bars and banks. He also has performed as principal in many symphonies including Longview, South Arkansas and Shreveport, as well as Shreveport Opera. Soon after beginning his cello studies in Kilgore, TX, he became an inaugural member of the Honor Orchestra of America at age 15, performing under the baton of Scott O’Neill and Benjamin Zander with many soloists including violinist Robert McDuffie and pianist Christopher O’Reilly. After receiving his Master of Arts and Bachelor of Arts in Music Performance from Northwestern State University of Louisiana studying with Paul Christopher, he continued to serve his alma mater by instructing courses in Fine Arts, and formerly directed the string programs at Parkway High School and Elm Grove Middle School in Bossier City, Louisiana. As a soloist, he has performed with the Natchitoches-Northwestern Symphony Orchestra, placed second in the 2012 LMTA Young Artists Competition. Brett was a finalist in the 2015 Rocky Mountain Concerto Competition and the 2016 UNC Symphony Concerto Competition. He also competed as a finalist in the 2017 MTNA National Chamber Music Competition with the UNC String Quartet.
